My Rotaract Experience: Jessica Morales

line

As young professionals we have the choice to make a difference in the lives of others or focus on ourselves. The current media has identified our generation as a generation that feels they are entitled to wealth without putting in the hard work and sleepless nights. I think the media has forgotten to see the good in our generation. Rotaract Long Beach is a group of young adults that has decided to make a difference in others, not just locally but internationally as well. Our group is more than a meet-up group: it’s a group that identifies a problem and proposes a solution. Over the past four months, Rotaract Long Beach has hosted the Great Sand Sculpture Contest, served meals at the Long Beach Rescue Mission, raised money to give a family a better Christmas, and sold watches to provide clean water to individuals in Haiti.  Even though our young professional lives are demanding, we understand that there is more to life than ourselves. As a member of Rotaract Long Beach I am proud of what we have done as of now and look forward to showing the world that our generation is capable of anything through hard work and passion. ~Jessica Morales
